Our Story

It all began with a simple idea: to bring unique, high-quality, and locally crafted pieces to our guests. Jan, our founder, was passionate about supporting artisans and crafters while also making it easier for guests to find beautiful, one-of-a-kind items. What started as a small store quickly grew into something much bigger.

In 2002, we expanded into Winnipeg with a second location on Academy Road—a grand old home that became a beloved shopping destination. After six wonderful years, we made the decision to return home to Pineridge Hollow, focusing on our original vision and growing the experience we offer. Over the years, we’ve expanded into furniture, home décor, and fashion, hosting our first outdoor fashion show in 2013.

Now, in 2025, we are taking the next step in our journey—moving into a refreshed new space in The Village at Pineridge Hollow. The name Aster holds special meaning—during the process of acquiring the land to build The Village, we had to navigate many challenges to protect the endangered Western Silvery Aster. Though it was a difficult step in our expansion, it became a meaningful part of our story, and we chose to honor it in our name.
